This baryte (barite) crystal specimen from the Xiefang Mine in China, featuring a rare two-generation growth structure.

A mineral specimen of baryte from the Xiefang Mine, China. A cluster of tabular, spear-shaped crystals featuring a "two-generation" growth habit. The inner core of the crystals is a translucent, gemmy honey-yellow, while the outer edges are coated in a stark, opaque ivory-white secondary growth. The top of the main crystal shows a flat, matte-textured horizontal cleavage plane.
