MINERAL DESCRIPTION
A striking large cabinet specimen from the legendary Picher Mine of the Tri-State District, purchased by a collector in 1971. This impressive piece showcases sharp, metallic-gray galena cubes, many with classic hoppered growth and stepped faces. Creamy-white dolomite crystals coat portions of the galena, creating excellent contrast, while flecks of sphalerite and shimmering pyrite add further texture and sparkle.
The specimen is hefty and three-dimensional, with strong display presence. Tri-State material of this size and quality is increasingly scarce on the market since mining ceased decades ago, making this a highly desirable piece for advanced collectors. This piece was collected in 1971 and will come with provenance card.
💎 A true classic of American mineralogy.
