Trigonic Record Keeper Smoky Quartzoid, Bahia Brazil (5.7lbs)
MINERAL DESCRIPTION
This rare Trigonic Record Keeper Quartzoid Smoky Quartz specimen is a naturally formed cluster, untouched and unaltered from its discovery deep within the earth. Featuring a thin, flat shape, the dark smoky quartz crystals appear almost black, showcasing a striking vitreous luster on their parallel, stepped pyramidal terminations. While most of the terminations are in excellent condition, some show slight abrasion from natural wear.
The crystals are bi-pyramidal in structure, with "four-sided" terminations that actually represent the meeting point of two six-sided pyramids, lacking prismatic faces
Trigonic: The term "Trigonic" typically refers to a type of mark or pattern found on certain crystals, particularly quartz.
Record Keeper: A "Record Keeper" is a type of crystal that features small, triangular or pyramid-like shapes or facets on its surface.
