MINERAL DESCRIPTION
Morion is a dark, almost opaque, black variety of Smoky Quartz. While Smoky Quartz typically has a translucent brown to grayish hue, Morion takes on a much deeper, darker appearance, often appearing as a jet-black stone. Its black coloration is primarily due to natural irradiation, which causes the iron impurities in the quartz to react and absorb light, giving it its striking dark tone.
The crystals are bi-pyramidal in structure, with "four-sided" terminations that actually represent the meeting point of two six-sided pyramids, lacking prismatic faces
Trigonic: The term "Trigonic" typically refers to a type of mark or pattern found on certain crystals, particularly quartz.
Record Keeper: A "Record Keeper" is a type of crystal that features small, triangular or pyramid-like shapes or facets on its surface.
